A Taste of Tradition Since 1940

From a humble handcart in the streets of pre-independence Ballari to a cherished household name for sweets and savouries across Karnataka.

Ramdas Khara & Sweets Heritage Emblem

The Humble Beginnings

The story of Ramdas Khara & Sweets began in 1940. With modest resources, a hand-pushed wooden cart, and family recipes passed down by elders, our founders started serving freshly fried khara, crisp boondi, and wholesome sweets to the hardworking community of Ballari.

What distinguished Ramdas from the very beginning was an unwavering commitment to quality: using pure groundnut oil instead of cheap alternatives, roasting dal to exact golden hues, and boiling sugar syrups to the precise consistency required for authentic texture.

As word spread about the taste and freshness of the savouries, the humble cart transformed over the decades into an established, beloved shop at SKPT Street. Today, customers who visited as children bring their own grandchildren to share the identical flavours they grew up cherishing.
